Number One Bruton

Fantastic to see Number One Bruton included in The Times Eighty Top British Hotels.

Number One Bruton is an elegant Georgian townhouse, medieval forge and row of cottages converted in to a twelve-bedroom hotel set around a pretty private courtyard. Within there’s a love and devotion to Somerset’s craft heritage, artistry and culture. The hotel also takes in the most fantastic restaurant, Osip run by Michelin-starred chef Merlin Labron–Johnson. A small farm to table place that’s well worth a visit.

Bruton is in the heart of rural Somerset and is one of the county’s finest centres of creativity and culture. A perfect place for a small country hotel and restaurant.

Collaborating with a handful of talented creatives, Ice House Design and Studio Louise worked together on the visual identity, website and various communications for Number One Bruton. Bringing life and character to a place from bare bones. We commissioned the beautiful illustrations from Donna Sarah in Frome and specialist sign-writing from a very talented man called Tim – who has a shed in Corsham.

When we start a visual identity project we never know in advance what or who we are going to need. We frequently use experts in many different specialisms. Photographers, illustrators, developers, product designers, letterpress printers, map makers, 3D modellers, litho printers  animators and many others. It’s our obligation to keep seeing a variety of creatives, find out their skills and maintain contact so we can pull them in when we need. This enables us to utilise the best talent when we need it. We’re very fortunate that in and around Bath there’s an abundance of hugely talented people and companies who can help us realise the vision we have for our clients.

Number one Bruton is a very special hotel and a treat for us and our creative contacts to work with such lovely clients.
